The Benefits of Sports and Physical Exercise
The controlled and planned physical activity (sport), brings us many great benefits.
But to obtain them we must be consistent in their practice.
Physical exercise practiced almost daily and in time we can benefit as follows:
In the cardio-respiratory system
The most important muscle in the body, the heart muscle, gets stronger. Cardio exercise brings a heartbeat that is more powerful and can move more blood through the body. This results in a lower resting heart rate, improving the economy and efficiency of our hearts.
For the same reason exercise increases the caliber of the coronary arteries, causing many of the problems of the cardiovascular system. Thus helping the heart to be more effective in the transport and return of blood.
In our muscles and bones
With exercise, we strengthen all the muscles, including those in charge of filling and emptying the lungs, making each breath we take in have more air with less energy expenditure, making breathing more efficient, increasing oxygenation and reducing stress of these respiratory muscles.
Increases the area of transmission of oxygen to the blood, this is caused by increased capitalization and a greater number of functioning alveoli.
It increases our lung capacity and cleans our lungs.
Joint exercises increase the flexibility of these dynamics, so our range of motion increases.
The enlarged muscles becoming stronger and more resistant to injury.
Bones becoming more resistant to shock and injuries.
Increasing the efficiency of the joints due to the fitness of tendons and ligaments and improving internal lubrication, coupled with increased muscle mass and resistance, makes our quality of life exponentially better. This enables us to to delay aging and increase the scope for expansion as a mobile and independent person.
In our psyche (psyche: A set of sensory functions, emotional and mental health of an individual)
Improving quality of life, independence, our physical capabilities, makes us feel more secure and increase our self-esteem.
Reduced stress.
We increased the activities of our free time, making us happier.
We increase our circle of acquaintances.
Increasing our physical capacity and dramatically reducing our self-esteem affects many pains.
The strengthening of our bodies makes us more alert, with more balance and we have a complex reaction time more efficiently and quickly, so that falls and bumps are reduced.
The muscles strengthen and the bones thicken, making injury recovery much faster than a sedentary person.
Anti-aging
Some claim that a 65-year daily physical exercise has a greater physical capacity and vital that a person of 45 who does not perform any physical activity. We are talking about delaying the aging variables almost 20 years.
Complements to improve
Within the large field that covers “physical exercise” we have different capacities each of which has its own inherent benefits, which could be flexibility, strength, endurance, agility, balance.
